About the Role

As our business continues to grow, we are looking for a proactive and commercially minded Buyer to join our London Head Office. This is an excellent opportunity to join a fast-paced international construction business supporting major Data Centre and Pharmaceutical projects across Europe. Working closely with project teams, suppliers and senior management, you will play a key role in sourcing materials, plant, equipment and services, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget and to the required quality standards. The successful candidate will be organised, detail-oriented and confident managing multiple priorities within a busy operational environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Source and purchase materials, plant, equipment, goods and services in line with project and business requirements.
  • Obtain and compare quotations from suppliers and subcontractors.
  • Negotiate pricing, contracts and commercial terms with suppliers.
  • Raise and manage purchase orders.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and key stakeholders.
  • Monitor inventory levels and forecast purchasing requirements.
  • Evaluate supplier performance and identify new sourcing opportunities.
  • Ensure compliance with company procurement policies and procedures.
  • Analyse market trends and pricing to support cost-saving initiatives.
  • Collaborate with internal departments and project teams to understand procurement requirements.
  • Support procurement planning and cost control activities across multiple projects.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in a Buyer, Purchasing, Procurement or Supply Chain role.
  • Experience within construction, engineering, manufacturing, logistics or a similar operational environment is preferred.
  • Strong commercial awareness, negotiation and communication skills.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
  • Experience with ERP or procurement systems is desirable.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
