Location: Brighton
Hours: Monday–Friday, 9:00am–5:00pm
Salary: £27,000–£30,000 per annum (depending on experience)
Contract: Permanent | Full-time

Glenholme Specialist Healthcare is looking for a skilled and reliable Maintenance Person to join our team, helping to maintain high-quality residential services that support adults with physical and learning disabilities.

The Role

As a Maintenance Person, you will play an important role in maintaining safe, welcoming and well‑presented environments for both residents and staff across Glenholme Specialist Healthcare's residential services.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Carrying out day‑to‑day repairs and planned maintenance across residential properties.
• Completing a range of maintenance tasks, including plumbing, carpentry, joinery, painting and decorating, basic electrical work and general repairs.
• Conducting routine health and safety and compliance checks.
• Maintaining stock levels and ensuring tools and materials are stored safely.
• Identifying maintenance issues and arranging specialist contractors where required.
• Travelling occasionally to another service within Surrey to complete maintenance work.
• Keeping accurate maintenance records using basic IT systems, including Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Ensuring all work is completed safely, professionally and to a high standard.

About You

We're looking for someone who is practical, dependable and committed to maintaining safe, high‑quality environments for the people we support.

You'll ideally have:

• Experience in a general maintenance, facilities or trade‑based role.
• Practical skills across a range of maintenance disciplines, including plumbing, carpentry, decorating and basic electrical work.
• A good understanding of health and safety practices.
• The ability to work independently and manage your own workload.
• A professional and respectful approach when working with residents, visitors and colleagues.
• A full UK driving licence and willingness to travel between services when required.
• Basic IT skills for completing maintenance records.
• An enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).

Desirable Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds, BTEC or equivalent in a relevant trade.
• Health & Safety qualification such as NEBOSH, CITB or equivalent.
