Hours: Full-Time, average of 44 hours per week (Alternate Weekends)

Salary: £14.00- £14.50 per hour (depending on qualifications and experience) + a range of health and wellbeing benefits

The Role

We’re seeking a dedicated Unit Lead to lead our care team and ensure the delivery of exceptional resident care. This is not a supernumerary role – you will lead by example, working hands-on alongside your team to deliver compassionate, personalised care every day. This is a fantastic opportunity for a Senior Care Assistant, looking for career progression! As Unit Lead, you’ll manage the day-to-day running of the unit, mentor and help develop staff, oversee care plans, and ensure compliance with CQC standards. You’ll also work closely with our Home Manager, Deputy Manager, and other department heads to make Halmer Court the best it can be for residents and staff alike.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead, inspire, and support the care team to provide exceptional person-centred care.
  • Deliver hands-on care to residents as part of the daily rota.
  • Oversee care planning, reviews, and assessments.
  • Ensure compliance with CQC and organisational standards.
  • Support and develop staff through mentoring, and training.
  • Foster a positive, respectful, and supportive team culture.

What We’re Looking For

  • NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care (minimum).
  • Experience in a supervisory or leadership role within a care home or similar setting.
  • Strong leadership, organisational, and decision-making skills.
  • A passion for delivering high-quality care and supporting residents’ wellbeing.
  • Good understanding of CQC regulations and safeguarding.
  • NVQ Level 4/5 or willingness to work towards, and experience in dementia care are desirable.
