Glenholme Healthcare's well-established care home, Halmer Court is looking for an Assistant Chef to join us on a bank contract!
Job requirements:
- Previous experience as a cook or a chef.
- A sound knowledge of COSHH, HACCP, Environmental Health Standards/ Regulations, Safer Food Better Business & Allergy Advice etc.
- Excellent time-keeping skills and great attention to detail.
- This job requires an Enhanced DBS to be carried out.
As an Assistant Chef, you will be responsible for:
- Assisting the Chef with negotiating and securing the best prices and value for food purchases and meeting budgets.
- Ensuring a healthy, balanced, and nutritious “home-cooked” approach to dietary requirements.
- Ensuring that food is cooked in a hygienic environment and quality is maintained at all times.
- Having systems in place to control food allocation to avoid food wastage.
- Ensuring staff employed within your kitchen adhere to current relevant regulations and policies of the home.
- Maintaining a sound knowledge of COSHH, HACCP, Environmental Health Standards/ Regulations, Safer Food Better Business & Allergy Advice etc.
Please note: This is a Bank position that provides flexible coverage for absences, so working hours and days may vary. This role requires an Enhanced DBS check.
