Overview

Well Being and Activities Coordinator — Part-Time in Spalding, GB - Halmer Court

Location: Halmer Court, PE11 2EL

Salary: £12.30 per hour, with a range of health & wellbeing benefits, employee perks, and opportunities to develop & progress

Permanent: Part-time, 20 hours, alternate weekends

Applicants must hold a full UK driving license and be 25 years or older for insurance purposes

Responsibilities

  • Organise, develop and plan programs of activities and events for residents, ensuring social, religious and cultural needs are provided for.
  • Support and enable residents to access social networks and maintain hobbies and interests; encourage the development of new interests.
  • Provide meaningful engagement in a person-centred way by creating and carrying out activities that promote physical and mental well-being while supporting a diverse and inclusive living environment.
  • Create a stimulating and varied programme of activities and social events; work with each resident to identify social and recreational requirements based on likes/dislikes, abilities and personal preferences.
  • Produce material for quarterly newsletters and share information on social media and with relatives.
  • Plan events inside and outside the home (e.g., exercise sessions, theatre productions, pet therapy).
  • Keep full records of all activities, gather feedback and assess effectiveness.
  • Manage and work within the monthly activities budget.
  • Assist in transporting service users to appointments using company vehicles or public transport.

What you will need

  • Excellent written and verbal English skills.
  • Previous experience as an Activities Coordinator or experience in the care sector or caring for another individual would be beneficial, but not essential. Essential is a friendly, imaginative and compassionate nature, a “we can” attitude and an interest in older people.
  • Proficient computer skills.
  • Valid driver’s license.
