We are looking for an Assistant Site Technician who enjoys practical, outdoor work and isn’t afraid to get stuck in. You’ll be part of a small team upgrading critical infrastructure, to modernise Portsmouth Naval Base, ensuring fit for purpose and reliable equipment for the Royal Navy. Your main responsibility will be acting as a Safety Attendant, ensuring that colleagues working in confined spaces are monitored, protected, and able to carry out their tasks safely.
ABOUT THE ROLE: Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Manage and maintain the highest possible standards of Health and Safety, in line with legislation and company policies
- Act as a confined space safety attendant, monitoring colleagues working in restricted environments
- Maintain constant communication with workers inside confined spaces
- Ensure safety procedures and emergency protocols are always followed
- Assist with site setup, equipment checks, and basic installation tasks under supervision
- Report any hazards or issues promptly
- Support the team with general duties on-site
