What We’re Looking For
As part of our rapid growth, we are recruiting for a Workshop Welder/Machinist to join our Maidstone team, supporting the delivery of high‑quality engineered products that keep our customers moving. As a Workshop Welder/Machinist, you will play a key role in producing high‑quality fabricated and machined components that support our customers and internal operations. This is a welding‑first position, where you will spend a proportion of your time carrying out MIG welding and fabrication of mild and stainless‑steel components, while also supporting machining activities within the workshop. You will also contribute to maintaining a safe, organised workshop environment and support continuous improvement across processes. Although machining training will be provided, applicants with prior machining exposure will be at an advantage and better suited to the requirements of the workshop which includes CNC and manual machinery, such as lathes, mills, and band saws.
Responsibilities
- Welding and fabricating mild and stainless steel fittings
- Inspecting completed components to maintain quality standards
- Operating and maintaining MIG/TIG equipment
- Reading and interpreting engineering drawings and technical diagrams
- Participating in CNC and manual machining (lathe, mill, band saw)
- Supporting daily planning and prioritisation of workshop tasks
- Highlighting material shortages and efficiency improvements
- Ensuring all work meets health & safety and company procedures
- Maintaining excellent housekeeping within your work area
