Role Purpose

The Project Manager will take responsibility for delivering LV residential connection projects in the Hemel Hempstead region. This includes civils and electrical works such as link boxes, multi-major loops, jointing, excavations, reinstatement, and associated infrastructure upgrades. The role requires strong leadership, technical understanding of both civils and electrical disciplines, and excellent client and stakeholder engagement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the delivery of residential LV connection projects from planning through to completion.
  • Oversee civils and electrical works including link boxes, multi-major loops, excavations, reinstatement, and jointing activities.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for clients, DNOs, subcontractors, and internal stakeholders.
  • Coordinate and manage multidisciplinary teams of electricians, jointers, and civils crews.
  • Ensure compliance with Health, Safety, Quality and Environmental (HSQE) policies.
  • Monitor budgets, forecasts, procurement and project progress.
  • Conduct site visits, inspections, and quality checks.
  • Manage risks and implement mitigation strategies.
  • Ensure accurate documentation, including project reports and as-built records.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Project Manager in utilities, civils or electrical infrastructure.
  • Strong understanding of residential LV connections, including link boxes and multi-major loops.
  • Knowledge of civils interfaces such as excavations, reinstatement and utility coordination.
  • Excellent leadership and stakeholder management skills.
  • Commercial awareness with experience managing budgets and programmes.
  • Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel.
  • Experience working with DNOs such as SSE, SPEN or UKPN.
  • HNC/HND in Electrical or Civil Engineering (or equivalent).
  • Familiarity with HV systems up to 33kV.
