Electrical Surveyor - SPEN - Permanent Position - Kilmarnock

At Glenelly Infrastructure Solutions Ltd, we specialise in delivering residential connections, grid connections, and infrastructure upgrades across Great Britain and Northern Ireland. Every project is unique, so we work closely with clients to provide flexible, tailored solutions that meet deadlines and budgets without compromising quality.

Glenelly Infrastructure Solutions is looking for candidates to work as Electrical Surveyors on a project with Scottish Power Energy Networks communicating with residents and surveying their properties to get the information we require to schedule work to upgrade the mains cable which runs from the front of the house to the meter.

This role covers a large area Ayrshire, you may be driving up to an hour to get to the location you will be working at. You will be provided with a van and fuel card to do the role.

Once on site you will be knocking on doors and gaining permission from the resident to enter. You will have a tablet to take the picture and enter the measurement details on to. You will need to show the customer what needs to be done, and get them to sign a consent form with the date. The data will then be sent to our admin team to arrange the work to be done.

This role requires a candidate with some electrical knowledge, but the main part of the role is speaking to residents and explaining the work that needs to be done for them, they will have had a letter about the work, but many will not have seen this.

The survey will take 40-45 minutes to complete. You will need to travel to an area and knock on a specified number of doors, if no-one is in, or the customer needs to reschedule another time you will arrange to go back.

For this role we need someone who is committed and methodical in their work, a knowledge of electrical connections or cabling would be useful, but training can be given on how to carry out the survey correctly and get the information that is needed.
