At Glendale, we have an exciting new opportunity for a Contract Manager based in the Midlands area to support the Head of Operations with the management and delivery of a prestigious grounds maintenance contract to include management of staff & budgets and planning the tasks & resources to ensure the provision of a high-quality, efficient and safe service.
This position is for a proven manager who wants to develop themselves and progress within this area of the UK, with Glendale having in place a strategic plan to grow the business regionally.

Who are you
- A self-motivated and experienced Contract Manager with perseverance and an entrepreneurial appetite.
- An in-depth understanding of landscape and horticultural management
- A strategic outlook driving continuous service improvement and efficiencies
- IT skills with a good understanding of Microsoft Office / Google systems
- The successful candidate will have a demonstrable track record of managing Grounds Maintenance teams, being able to drive productivity and ensuring that the workforce provides a quality service.
A Glimpse into the Role awaiting You
Based in the Midlands this is a dynamic and hands-on role involving taking the lead on the delivery of our services, monitoring the progress of the teams on-site and taking quick and effective action to maintain both high productivity and client satisfaction across a wide range of static and mobile commercial sites.
- Manage and motivate your teams (static / site based and mobile) to deliver the highest possible levels of service.
- Responsible for the Contract accounts and production of weekly and monthly reports.
- Recruitment of permanent staff.
- Daily liaison with Client Officers.
- Overseeing system compliance and quality checks.
- Organising teams and rotas to produce effective works schedules and ensure delivery
- Taking a leading role in health and safety.
- Budget planning, preparation and management.
You will not be working in isolation, you will be liaising and collaborating with regional and national operations managers and colleagues about activities across the Midlands
