In detail, the position encompasses duties and responsibilities as follows:

The ship operator will work as part of a global team and will be responsible for the efficient delivery of day-to-day operations of the ST Shipping and Transport fleet of oil tankers. Operators provide direct coverage for all vessels in the region and monitor vessels out of region operated by teams in other regions.

The ideal candidate possesses:

• Experience in collecting and submitting information, certificates, and questionnaires to assist in confirming the vessel’s future voyage(s) with external and internal charterers;
• Ability to work with operations brokers to obtain voyage orders for the vessel and pass them to the captain for execution;
• Experience dealing with local agents at all ports of call to ensure proper vessel attendance and port requirements are met;
• Skills in liaising with the ST bunker team to plan and supply the vessel with fuel at economical ports and prices;
• Capability to track the voyage PnL to ensure it is up to date and the vessel is earning projected revenue;
• Experience generating freight invoices, accruing, and invoicing for items such as port time, bunkers, costs, cargo heating, etc.;
• Experience dealing with vessel owners regarding hire payments and off-hire payments to ST;
• Knowledge of monitoring the oil major approval status of vessels and ensuring regular inspections to maintain validity.

Skills:

• Educational background to degree level (or equivalent) as a minimum requirement;
• 3-5 years of experience as a ship operator;
• Sea-faring background is advantageous.
