We are seeking an indirect Tax Assistant to join our tax team. Reporting to the Head of Tax for energy trading, you will work on preparing international VAT returns and reconciliations, ensuring compliance is adhered to and deadlines are met.
Responsibilities:
- Work closely with the Indirect Tax Supervisor to prepare various international VAT returns and reconciliations, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely submission.
- Investigate, monitor, and explain variances or fluctuations, taking a proactive and problem-solving approach to identifying root causes and implementing solutions.
- Collaborate with internal teams to gather, verify, and document information required for VAT reporting and compliance obligations.
- Support the identification and streamlining of existing reporting processes to improve efficiency, accuracy, and overall service delivery.
- Demonstrate initiative in managing responsibilities, resolving issues independently where appropriate, and escalating risks or concerns in a timely manner.
- Contribute positively to the wider Tax Team by supporting continuous improvement initiatives and maintaining high professional standards.
