The Glencore 2025 Industrial Placement Programme Designed to accelerate your career in the commodities trading, technology, engineering, or environmental science spheres, this 12 month programme gives talented undergraduates exposure to the world-class people and careers on offer at Glencore. This is a fast-paced placement in our London office. You will be given your own areas of responsibility and have the opportunity to contribute to the work of the business from day one. By the end of the programme, you will have developed strong skills in your chosen function. You will also be equipped with the highest level of professionalism, personal ownership and commercial aptitude skills that are essential to future careers at Glencore. Industrial placement students may be able to return as full-time team members on our Graduate Programme upon completing their studies, depending on performance and business requirements. The HSEC (Health, Safety, Environment and Communities) and ERM (Enterprise Risk Management) Placement Our HSEC and ERM team provides functional support to our businesses and assets globally, ensuring that operations are delivered in a safe, reliable and responsible manner, and risks are understood and managed effectively. At the heart of what we do is a systematic approach to managing activities, following a classical plan do check act cycle, covering all functional areas of health, safety, environment and communities. The team is involved across the full lifecycle, and is engaged in supporting all levels in the business, from front line operations to senior level governance., offering an invaluable insight into all aspects of the business. In this placement, you will shadow members of the HSEC and ERM team, contributing to their work while working on a project of your own. Key requirements: Studying towards a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) degree; Environmental Sciences or similar subjects preferred but not required Demonstrated interest in Health, Safety, the Environment or Community Engagement Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills Portuguese language skills useful, but not required Who we look for We are looking for driven, talented undergraduate students who are interested in an exciting, challenging career in the commodities sector. Working at Glencore requires commercial awareness, adaptability and resilience and you will need to thrive in team environments as well as take initiative independently. We look for disciplined people who can demonstrate entrepreneurial ability, thrive on logistical challenges and can provide practical solutions to complex problems using their numerical capabilities. You must be studying a degree with a year in industry, and successful candidates need to be available to start their placements in July 2025.
