An opportunity exists for the right candidate to work with us as a Maintenance Assistant at our luxury care home in Wenvoe. The home has 70 suites and offers the very best care and service for elderly people. In the position of Maintenance Assistant, you will play an important role in the upkeep and overall maintenance of the home, undertaking work as directed by the home manager and Head of Maintenance.

As a Maintenance Assistant at Glenburnie Lodge Care Community, you'll make sure we have a clean and well-maintained environment so that residents feel at home and staff can perform to the best of their abilities. Creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere is part of our commitment to delivering high standards of care and support. You can expect plenty of variety as part of the maintenance team. You'll turn your hand to all sorts of tasks within the care home, including fire safety and health & safety compliance checks. You will need to liaise with contractors on jobs that fall outside the expertise of your team. The wellbeing of our residents will be your number one priority as a part of the Maintenance team at Glenburnie Lodge Care Community. You'll make sure all work is carried out with sensitivity to their needs.

With hands-on experience of property maintenance, you'll have a proven ability to undertake a wide range of maintenance tasks. You should be reliable and flexible when it comes to your working hours, and be happy to undertake manual handling, including lifting of loads.

An ideal candidate for the role will:

  • Be able to provide the primary gardening services for Glenburnie Lodge, but also possess a solid understanding of plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems.
  • Possess an understanding of safety and fire safety systems.
  • Possess effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Be able to handle multiple priorities.
  • Be able to make responsible choices and decisions and act in a resident's best interest.
  • Demonstrate good judgement, problem solving and decision-making skills.

A clean driver's license is required for this role, as you may be required to drive the company vehicle on occasion. If you feel you have the right attributes please get in touch.
