Glenbrook High School District 225 is seeking a full-time Long-Term Substitute Assistant Director of Multilingual Services to cover maternity leave from approximately July 6, 2026, through September 4, 2026.

Summer Screening and Identification

  • Administer the WIDA Screener to newly enrolled students during summer registration
  • Coordinate scheduling, documentation, and placement for students identified through the Home Language Survey for Glenbrook North and Glenbrook South
  • Communicate with parents, school counselors, registrars, and administrators regarding student placement
  • Maintain accurate records related to multilingual identification and compliance
  • Provide direction to multilingual staff regarding screening, placement, and compliance procedures

Start-of-Year Program Coordination

  • Oversee and support Multilingual (ML) Coordinators, ML Department Assistant, Designated ML Teachers, ML Push-in Support Services, Language and Family Liaisons, and ML Instructional Assistants in carrying out start-of-year preparation
  • Host beginning of the year meetings for ML staff and Language and Family Liaisons

Compliance and Data Responsibilities

  • Support the implementation of the Translation Services Guide in compliance with Title VI guidelines and ensure timely payment of summer translation invoices
  • Verify multilingual learner rosters for ISBE compliance
  • Review start-of-year data for accuracy in student information systems
  • Assist with parent notification requirements
  • Support completion of the Multilingual Program Self-Audit / Compliance documentation
  • Coordinate with counselors and registrars regarding multilingual status and course placement
  • Maintain documentation required for state and federal reporting

Meetings and District Coordination

  • Support the multilingual program needs district-wide
  • Attend designated meetings as requested by the Assistant Superintendent of Teaching and Learning
  • Perform other duties related to multilingual program coordination as assigned by the Assistant Superintendent of Teaching and Learning

Qualifications

  • Professional Educator License (PEL) with ESL or Bilingual endorsement required
  • Administrative or leadership experience preferred
  • Experience with WIDA Screener, ACCESS, or multilingual program compliance preferred
  • Ability to travel between district buildings
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Ability to supervise staff and manage short-term program responsibilities
