At Craigclowan, we are passionate about childhood. We are a thriving, co-educational, independent day school and nursery with a current role of over 220 boys and girls aged three to thirteen. We are ideally located in a prominent setting to the south of the Fair City of Perth, overlooking the beautiful city, the River Tay and the incredible countryside beyond.
As one of the largest prep schools in Scotland, we have excellent specialist teaching facilities for sport, music, arts, and each academic curriculum area. We enjoy an excellent academic record and a busy extra-curricular programme. Our committed and talented staff make the difference; the excellent relationship between pupils and specialist staff is fundamental to what we do.
We aim to provide a broad education and a strong academic stimulus with opportunities for each pupil to explore, make mistakes, learn and grow, both inside and outside of the classroom.
Craigclowan School and Nursery provides a warm and nurturing environment for boys and girls aged 3 – 13 to learn, grow and be happy. The school sits in stunning grounds with magnificent views over Perthshire. With a dedicated, caring and supportive ethos, the staff are very close to the children and families in their care. Pupils are encouraged to achieve their all-round potential, in the classroom, on the sports fields, on the stage and in the music and art departments.
The school aims to make the most of the world outside the classroom through a wide range of outdoor activities that build confidence and resilience, encourage creativity and problem solving.
Craigclowan’s children stay children for longer. When it comes to moving on to senior school, pupils go on to attend a wide variety of top UK schools, many with scholarships under their belts.
School is a hive of activity, with a family-friendly wraparound care programme before and after lessons. The school minibus fleet collects children from across the region, and Craigclowan’s holiday camps operate throughout the year. Grant funding is available for nursery pupils setting out on their Craigclowan adventure.
Craigclowan School and Glenalmond College stand as two of Scotland’s most respected independent schools, each with a proud tradition of nurturing academic excellence, character development, and community spirit. In June 2024, Craigclowan School entered into a strategic partnership with Glenalmond College, supported by 35 Education, building on a long-standing and positive relationship between the two schools.
