An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Financial Controller to join a dynamic and forward-thinking professional services company based in Leeds. This company is a leading organisation in its field, known for its commitment to excellence and innovation. This Financial Controller role presents an exciting opportunity for a proven finance professional to join a dynamic team and contribute to the strategic development of the company. As Financial Controller, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring robust financial management and compliance, while also leading a talented finance team. This is a chance to make a significant impact in a supportive and forward-thinking environment. As Financial Controller, you will work closely with the CFO and wider board and will play a crucial role in driving financial performance and supporting strategic initiatives within the organisation. Please note this is a hybrid or remote position, with an expectation to be at the Leeds offices once or twice per month.
Responsibilities include:
- Deputise for the Director of Finance on financial accounting issues.
- Maintain and develop strong financial controls and processes.
- Manage the annual statutory accounts process, ensuring high quality annual report and accounts are delivered to time and to audit standards.
- Manage the balance sheet, ensuring optimisation of debtors, creditors and cash.
- Provide advice to the Director of Finance on working capital management.
- Maintain Treasury protocols and ongoing management of the Treasury function.
- Management of tax issues, working with external advisors as required.
- Oversee the preparation of annual accounting statements and manage the year-end process.
- Lead the management of tax issues and annual insurance renewals.
- Contribute to wider strategic projects.
- Management and development of the Financial Accounts, Cash, Credit Control and Transaction processing teams.
Skills and Attributes required:
- Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) with a minimum of 10 years post-qualification experience.
- Proven experience in financial control within a medium to large business.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to engage at all levels.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines.
- High degree of accuracy and attention to detail, particularly in financial reporting.
Package on offer:
£90,000 - £110,000 + benefits to include car allowance and bonus.
