Assistant Management Accountant Location: Wolverhampton Salary: £32,000 – £38,000 Working: Hybrid working Contract: Permanent, Full time Overview Our client, a well-established and growing organisation, is seeking an experienced Assistant Accountant to join their finance team. This is an exciting opportunity for someone looking to expand their accounting experience in a dynamic and supportive environment. The role offers a varied workload, exposure to all areas of finance, and the chance to make a tangible impact on the business.The Role Reporting to the Finance Manager, you will play a key part in supporting the production of monthly management accounts, improving reporting processes, and maintaining accurate financial records. You'll be involved in everything from payroll checking and month-end journals to developing new systems and supporting wider business functions.Key Responsibilities:Assisting with the preparation of monthly management accountsPosting journals, accruals, prepayments, and depreciationProcessing and reconciling petty cash and maintaining fixed asset registersExperience in Xero accounting software. Preparing KPI and variance reports for divisional reviewSupporting the purchase and sales ledger functionsProducing ad hoc financial reports as requiredSupporting process improvements and system integration's across the finance departmentSkills & Requirements:Part-qualified ACCA/CIMA or equivalentIdeally – strong working knowledge of Xero and Sage 50 PayrollProficient in Microsoft ExcelAnalytical with excellent attention to detail and organisational skillsA proactive team player who enjoys working in a fast-paced environmentBenefits & Package:Competitive salaryPrivate health planContributory pension schemeLife assurance Additional leave with service milestonesLearning and development opportunitiesEmployee recognition and reward schemes
