Job Description

Seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Assistant Finance Manager for our client based in South Birmingham. The ideal candidate will have a passion for Financial Analysis and Finance Business Partnering.Role Overview: As an Assistant Finance Manager, you will work closely with the Finance Business Partner to manage a portfolio of contracts. Your key role will be providing commercial financial support, ensuring cost-effectiveness, identifying opportunities for improvement, and managing financial risks. You will also play an integral part in supporting operational teams and senior stakeholders with financial analysis and business reporting.Key Responsibilities:Commercial Support:Partner with both financial and non-financial stakeholders to drive decision-making and manage financial risks and opportunities.Attend site and client meetings, providing proactive financial analysis to support business decisions.Assist in monthly reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and financial performance reviews.Operational Performance:Support operational teams in understanding and improving their financial performance.Promote working capital improvements, including contract billing and debt management.Contribute to tender preparation and capital expenditure appraisals.People Management:Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders.Supervise and mentor junior team members to ensure high levels of service delivery and career progression.Candidate Profile:Essential:Qualified Accountant (CIMA/ACCA/ACA).Experience in a multi-site, multi-contract organisation.Strong management accounting and business partnering skills.Analytical, with an attention to detail.Performance Standards:Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence both finance and non-finance teams.Proactive, energetic, and self-motivated.Strong organisational skills with the ability to work under pressure.If you're a qualified accountant with a strong commercial mindset and a passion for financial analysis, we encourage you to express your interest.
