With a highly experienced team of around 24 employees and roughly £2 Million turnover, they deliver robust, well-informed solutions that help clients navigate complex environmental and regulatory challenges.
About the Role
This position is part-time, roughly 24 to 26 hours a week Accounts Manager vacancy combining preparing & producing management accounts and quarterly accounts with managing all aspects of accounts payable, accounts receivable, credit control and preparing payroll for an outsourced payroll provider managing the payroll cycle. Supporting a part-time finance director this position is replacing an accounts manager close to retiring. Additional responsibilities can include business partnering with project managers and implementing efficiency across finance process.
Key Duties
- Financial Operations & Monthly Activity
- Oversee the full cycle of billing for ongoing work, ensuring all charges are raised, sent and tracked appropriately.
- Coordinate with project leads to maintain up-to-date billing timetables and align financial activity with internal project and CRM systems.
- Import and reconcile online sales data within the accounting platform to maintain accurate revenue records.
- Monitor outstanding balances, follow up overdue payments and apply measures to reduce financial exposure.
- Handle incoming supplier invoices, ensuring they are validated and processed promptly.
- Review employee expenditure claims and approve them in line with internal policies.
- Maintain accurate banking records through regular reconciliations and transaction checks.
- Administer and balance all company card expenditure, ensuring transactions are coded and verified.
- Carry out frequent assessments of cash position, supporting short- and long-term cash-flow planning and oversight.
- Oversee the payroll process, working closely with the external payroll provider to ensure accuracy and meet HMRC obligations.
- Administer pension arrangements, ensuring adherence to auto-enrolment rules and regulatory expectations.
- Prepare periodic management reports, including quarterly and year-end financial summaries.
- Act as the point of contact for external accountants and HMRC, supplying required information and coordinating submissions.
- Complete VAT filings and manage other statutory financial returns.
- Evaluate and enhance finance processes, introducing improvements where needed.
- Support the Finance Director by analysing profitability across different service areas and contributing to financial insight.
What we are looking for:
- Minimum AAT Level 3 Qualified or ACCA studier
- Experience Preparing and Producing management Accounts
- Good working experience around credit control & managing debtors.
- Experience with end-to-end accounts payable management
- Sage 50 experience - DESIRABLE
- Finance Business Partnering - DESIRABLE
- Must be a driver and have access to a vehicle
