Gleeson has been partnered with a Global Freight business looking for a Road Coordinator. This Opportunity would be best fitted to a professional looking to further grow their career in a well established business.

  • Job Title: Road Coordinator
  • Locations: Basildon
  • Salary : 27-£30,000

Duties:

  • Assist the Road Freight Supervisor in their duties, supporting the Head of Road's goal to improve the company's competitiveness and profitability.
  • Understand and follow the department's vision for business growth, focusing on efficient Import/Export land freight, warehouse operations, and logistics services.
  • Manage client and subcontractor relationships according to standard procedures.
  • Ensure accurate and timely customer invoicing, following SOP guidelines.
  • Complete all Import/Export tasks correctly and on time, including financial, legal, and invoicing responsibilities.
  • Oversee operational activities to ensure they are completed on schedule.
  • Maintain regular communication with sales teams, report new leads, and coordinate shipments.
  • Send quotations to the line manager or sales team within two hours of receipt and ensure they are documented in a standard format.
  • Share internal leads with customer service and sales teams.
  • Work with credit control to follow up on overdue payments.

Skills & Competencies:

  • Minimum 6 months of experience in a freight forwarding environment (import/export).
  • Experience as a Road Freight Operator or in a similar role is preferred.
