The Role
The Operations Manager will oversee all operational activity within the distribution centre, ensuring efficiency, safety and high-quality service delivery. This is a key leadership role responsible for driving performance, improving processes, and supporting the wider business as it continues to scale.
Key Responsibilities

Lead all operational functions with full accountability for cost control, productivity, and service performance.

Drive continuous improvement initiatives, using Lean methodologies to enhance efficiency and eliminate waste.

Promote and maintain a strong, proactive safety culture while ensuring full regulatory compliance.

Foster cross-functional collaboration and ensure operational flexibility to meet customer expectations.

Support, develop and coach team members, promoting a positive and high-performing culture.

Ensure stock accuracy and smooth coordination across warehousing, delivery, and customer service teams.

Analyse operational data, creating actionable insights to influence decision-making.

Produce performance reports and operational updates for senior management.

Support the rollout and adoption of new systems, technologies, and processes.

Encourage accountability, teamwork, and communication across all departments.

Address performance issues, resolve conflicts and manage challenging conversations effectively.

Respond quickly and effectively to changing operational demands.

Maintain high standards of quality, product condition, security, and presentation.

Work closely with customer service and sales teams to resolve order or delivery queries promptly.

Demonstrate flexibility during peak periods, supporting extended hours where required.
About You

At least 5 years\’ experience in an operational management role, ideally within FMCG, distribution, or a similar fast-paced environment.

Strong communicator who can build positive relationships across all levels of the organisation.

Highly organised, with the ability to prioritise effectively in a dynamic setting.

Strong analytical mindset with experience turning data into operational decisions.

Skilled in leadership, planning, and problem-solving.

Proficient in ERP and Warehouse Management Systems, with experience supporting the introduction of new technologies.

Resilient, adaptable, and confident managing both people and processes.

Demonstrated experience in recruitment, coaching and team development.
