Key Responsibilities
- Core Finance & Accounting
- Managing accounts payable and receivable, ensuring accurate reconciliations and on-time payments.
- Recording all financial activity (sales, purchases, expenses) within the accounting system with precision.
- Posting journals, updating ledgers, and maintaining clean, compliant financial records.
- Working closely with operations to track online sales, returns, refunds, and retail performance.
- Reconciling payment gateways such as PayPal, Klarna, Stripe and other ecommerce channels.
- Supporting stock valuation, inventory accounting, and understanding margins specific to apparel.
- Assisting with monthly management accounts, including P&L, balance sheet and cashflow.
- Preparing VAT returns and ensuring compliance with ecommerce-related tax requirements.
- Helping with budgeting, forecasting, and analysing variances to support business decisions.
- Supporting the year-end process and coordinating with auditors.
- Reconciling intercompany balances and resolving discrepancies.
- Getting involved in improvement projects to streamline systems and processes as the business grows.
Who We’re Looking For
- You are someone who is hungry to grow, excited by the pace of ecommerce, and ready to step into a role where you can make an impact fast.
- Part-qualified ACA / ACCA / CIMA and actively studying
- Experience in fashion, apparel, clothing brands, or ecommerce/retail
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting
- Proficient with accounting software such as Xero, QuickBooks, Sage
- Excellent Excel or Google Sheets skills
- Great communicator who can partner with teams across the business
- Detail-driven, organised, and comfortable juggling multiple deadlines
- Analytical mindset with a proactive approach to improving processes
- Experience with Shopify or similar ecommerce platforms
- Comfortable working with multi-currency transactions
- Based in London
