An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Head of Internal Audit to join a leading player in UK manufacturing, based in Birmingham.
This position is ideally suited to a 'Big Four' trained audit professional looking to advance their career within a senior leadership capacity.
As Head of Internal Audit, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the internal audit function, driving operational efficiency, and ensuring robust governance across the organisation.The Head of Internal Audit will oversee a team dedicated to evaluating risk, supporting risk management activities, and enhancing internal controls.

Responsibilities include:
- Lead the Internal Audit team and maintain a robust audit function, supporting the development of the team.
- Plan, develop, and execute a comprehensive audit plan covering key operational, commercial, financial, and compliance risks.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders while championing a risk management culture.
- Proactively lead investigations related to internal controls, ensuring independent and thorough processes.
- Support strategic initiatives and special projects as required, collaborating closely with Directors.
Skills and attributes required:
The successful candidate will be a qualified accountant, specifically ACA / CA, having trained with a 'Big Four' accountancy firm, with a proven track record within a big company, blue-chip internal audit function.
A commercial mindset, added-value approach to internal audit and the ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment are all highly desirable.
You will also possess first class communication skills and be able to build relationships across all levels of the organisation.
