Gleeson has been partnered with a Freight business looking for a Pricing Freight Specialist, The role is within one of the fastest growing businesses within its sector and commercial growth. The opportunity will allow the professional to grow their career within a fast moving business alongside driven professional within the business opening doorways into management or further commercial goals. Job Title: Pricing Freight Specialist Salary: £28,000 – £35,000 per annum Incentives: Biannual performance bonuses (2) + lifetime commission structure Work Type :Hybrid Locations: Manchester Duties: Prepare and issue spot rates, tenders, and pricing proposals for customers and internal teams. Negotiate rates with airlines, shipping lines, and road freight providers to secure the most competitive options. Analyse pricing structures and profitability, ensuring margins are maintained in line with business targets. Support sales teams with pricing input for RFQs, tenders, and customer proposals. Work closely with overseas partners and agents to source rates and solutions across global trade lanes. Maintain up-to-date tariffs, surcharges, and carrier contracts in line with market changes. Provide market insights and competitor analysis to support commercial decision-making. Collaborate with operations to ensure accurate costings and smooth handover from pricing to execution. Ideal Candidate: 2-3 years experience in freight forwarding, preferably within pricing, tendering, or procurement. Strong knowledge of air, sea, and road freight operations and rate structures. Negotiation and supplier management experience with carriers, agents, and 3PLs.
