Location: South Birmingham | Full-time | Up to £48k - 6 Month FTC - Starting in April.

We are looking for a Finance Analyst to join our client in South West Birmingham. If you are an accountant with strong technical skills in financial reporting, modelling, and process improvement, this role is for you.

What You’ll Do:

  • Maintain and improve financial reports, dashboards, and models using Excel (Power Query, Power Pivot) and potentially Power BI.
  • Own and refine financial templates to meet evolving business needs.
  • Contribute to finance projects, ensuring high-quality and structured development.
  • Work closely with the Finance Project Manager to align deliverables with key goals.
  • Collaborate with the Senior Finance Analyst on best practices for reporting and modelling.
  • Keep clear documentation for reports, models, and processes.
  • Provide technical support, troubleshooting financial reporting issues.
  • Identify opportunities for process automation and efficiency improvements.
  • Work with stakeholders across departments to improve financial reporting, income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow analysis.
  • Support training initiatives, helping users make the most of financial tools.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Accountant with hands-on experience in month-end processes and financial statements.
  • Strong technical ability to build and enhance financial models using Excel (Power Query, Power Pivot). Bonus if you have Power BI experience.
  • A problem solver with a knack for process improvements and automation.
  • Someone who understands how financial statements (P&L, balance sheet, cash flow) fit together and can apply that knowledge to reporting and modelling.
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills to work across teams.
