The Gleeson Recruitment Group are pleased to be working on behalf of a well-established and growing UK-based retail business to recruit an experienced and commercially minded eCommerce Manager. This is a full-time, permanent position with a hybrid working arrangement based in Coventry. The successful candidate will lead a small ecommerce team, supporting the wider marketing and digital objectives, and will play a key role in optimising online performance through strategic content, CRO, SEO, and merchandising.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and develop a high-performing ecommerce team, fostering a collaborative and data-driven culture.
- Oversee the onsite merchandising strategy to ensure product relevance, discoverability, and commercial alignment.
- Deliver and optimise ecommerce content that supports brand identity and campaign objectives.
- Drive conversion rate optimisation initiatives through A/B testing, user journey improvements, and performance analysis.
- Plan and execute timely ecommerce campaigns and product launches in collaboration with marketing and product teams.
- Develop and implement SEO strategies to increase organic visibility and traffic across key categories.
- Conduct keyword research and competitor analysis using industry tools to inform optimisation efforts.
- Use GA4 and ecommerce analytics to guide strategic decisions and report on key performance indicators.
- Ensure the website's core functionalities-navigation, taxonomy, and search-are continually refined to enhance UX.
- Support product range expansion through market research and customer insight analysis.
Candidate Criteria
- Substantial experience in a similar ecommerce or digital trading role within a multi-channel or retail environment.
- Strong knowledge of ecommerce platforms and CMS tools; Shopify Plus experience is advantageous.
- Proficiency in SEO tools such as SEMrush, Ahrefs, or equivalent.
- Proven success delivering measurable CRO improvements through structured testing and insight-led changes.
- Competent in using GA4 to analyse trends, measure performance, and drive decision-making.
- Demonstrable leadership skills with experience managing and motivating direct reports.
- Comfortable collaborating cross-functionally with product, marketing, and development teams.
- Highly organised and able to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
