We're looking for an experienced and proactive Depot Operations Manager to join the team and ensure the smooth operation of the transport fleet and delivery service.
The Role:
As Depot Operations Manager, you will oversee the day-to-day operations, ensuring efficiency, compliance, and customer satisfaction. You'll manage a team of drivers, coordinate vehicle movements, and maintain high standards of safety and performance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and manage vehicle transport schedules to meet client deadlines.
- Supervise and support a team of drivers, ensuring adherence to company policies and procedures.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant transport regulations, including driver hours, vehicle maintenance, and safety standards.
- Monitor fleet performance, optimising routes and reducing operational costs.
- Liaise with clients to provide updates and resolve any transport-related issues.
- Maintain accurate records of vehicle inspections, maintenance, and driver logs.
- Implement strategies to improve efficiency and service quality.
What We're Looking For:
- Proven experience as a Transport Manager or similar role ideally with experience working with parcels or pallet network operations.
- Strong knowledge of transport regulations (e.g., tachograph rules, DVSA standards).
- Excellent leadership and organisational skills with the ability to manage a team effectively.
- Proficiency in transport management software and IT systems.
- CPC National/International qualification (preferred but not essential).
- A proactive problem-solver with a focus on safety and customer satisfaction.
