Credit Controller – 6 month contract
27,000 – 30,000 on a 6 month FTC, 21 days holiday + 8 days bank holiday
Based in Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire
Start date – late February 2025
3 days per week in the office and 2 days working from home (but client can also offer fully remote if needed – but the first week of training will be based in their Aylesbury Office). You must be a UK resident, with recent UK experience within Credit Control.
Our well-established, key client is in need of an experienced Credit Controller, initially on a 6 month contract. Ideal candidates will be available at short notice and be able to hit the ground running, adding value from day 1.
The successful Credit Controller will be responsible for:
- Reporting to the Credit Control Team Leader, working within a team of 5.
- Processing all sales invoices daily, using customer portals and management systems.
- Reconciling customer accounts and sending statements.
- Maintaining accounts within agreed terms and credit limits.
- Chasing overdue invoices primarily from corporate and SME clients.
- Reporting old outstanding debt to the Credit Team Leader.
- Indicating to the Group Credit Manager if legal action is required.
- Handling customer queries and discrepancies in a timely manner.
- Liaising with different departments to resolve issues.
- Processing and managing high volumes of data, using Excel skills.
- Keeping a record of customer accounts and payment terms.
- Maintaining records of debtors’ actual and expected income.
- Maintaining a database of customer information on Excel and NetSuite.
- Working closely with the accounts team, processing payments, and helping with month-end tasks.
- Performing ad hoc duties and covering for other staff members.
The successful Credit Controller will offer:
- Recent experience in a similar role within a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent negotiation skills and a professional telephone manner.
- Good spoken and written communication skills, with an assertive and organized approach.
- Significant numerical knowledge and advanced skills in MS Excel and Word.
- The ability to work independently or within a team.
- Reliability, attention to detail, and adaptability to new systems.
Our Aylesbury client is able to move quickly on interviews and on-boarding, and ideally, you will be available at short notice. There may be potential longer-term opportunities for the right candidate.
