Gleeson is proud to be partnering with a global automotive manufacturing business as they look to appoint an Advanced Automation Engineer to support continued growth and new programme launches. This is a key position within the engineering function, offering responsibility for leading complex manufacturing equipment projects from concept through to production. The role will play a critical part in driving capital investment, supplier management, and lean manufacturing initiatives across a high volume, advanced manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as the technical lead for new manufacturing equipment and process proposals.
- Develop equipment concepts, specifications, and Statements of Requirement (SORs) in collaboration with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs).
- Lead the technical evaluation and selection of new equipment suppliers, including capability assessments and technical comparisons.
- Develop and standardise documentation across all project phases, from concept through to production handover.
- Stakeholder Management across internal Departments.
- Identify opportunities to implement Continuous Improvement (CI) across the business.
- Lead projects associated with new equipment purchases, ensuring delivery to agreed scope, timing, and budget.
- Prepare and summarise equipment and installation cost data to support new business quotations and RFQs.
