A well-established and growing organisation is looking for an experienced Accounts Payable Team Leader to join their busy finance team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys taking ownership of processes, mentoring a small team, and driving improvements in a fast-paced environment.
In this hands-on role, you'll be responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the accounts payable function while also supporting your team and contributing to wider finance projects. You'll work closely with internal departments and external suppliers to ensure the smooth, timely, and accurate processing of all payments and expenses.
Key Responsibilities:- Oversee and support the accounts payable team, including training, development, and performance reviews.
- Manage daily operations such as invoice processing, reconciliations, supplier payments, and queries.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
- Ensure compliance with internal controls, policies, and procedures.
- Monitor accounts payable ledgers and aged creditor reports to ensure timely payment cycles.
- Prepare and present reports, KPIs, and insights to senior finance staff.
- Conduct regular audits of AP processes to identify and implement improvements.
- Support wider finance projects and assist during internal and external audits.
- Previous experience in an accounts payable or similar finance role.
- Proven ability to lead or supervise a small team.
- Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
- Confident communicator with a proactive and problem-solving approach.
- Good working knowledge of finance systems and Microsoft Excel.
- Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and adapt in a changing environment.
