The Gleeson Business Analyst team are key to understanding and translating our business needs. We are responsible for the implementation of business improvement through process reviews and execution of technical solutions. We care about process, governance and adoption ensuring we consider all stakeholders impacted through change.

In your role, you will be required to facilitate stakeholder workshops, demonstrating effective questioning/investigative techniques to produce effective outputs which may be developed upon further into Demand Cases. To do this you must be an expert in requirements capture, prioritisation and documentation, leading the process from inception to delivery and early life support. The role of a Business Analyst in Gleeson requires an individual who is adept at leading on project delivery that will add value and improve the experience of our external and internal customers.

Our roles offer the opportunity for specialists in subject areas, whether these are at a function role level or through the use of technologies. Our team are expected to lead in their respective areas whilst sharing knowledge and training to other members. JIRA will be the mechanism for recording new Demand and managing projects. This will require you to understand the concept of Epics and Stories. Describing problems and requirements clearly and concisely are measurable using acceptance criteria principles. To be effective in your role, you must be able to collaborate and communicate effectively with various business functions, working closely with our users to understand their needs, wants and challenges.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Working with the extended IT team and business to review, analyse and evaluate business issues and user needs.
  • Document requirements, define scope and objectives.
  • Construct process maps and diagrams; evaluating system capabilities; facilitating functional requirements/specifications.
  • Contributing to business case creation, defining scope and benefits, using analytical analysis to support recommendations.
  • Delivery of project requirements including testing, bug reporting, risk management, implementation and service transition stages.
  • Creation of project plans with clearly defined deliverables, effort and resource planning.
  • Contributing to prioritisation discussions with clearly defined and understood impact assessment.
  • Working with the business to agree adoption measures ensuring successful delivery and sustainability of the solution.
  • Identifying opportunities for added value change/development, registering demand for review.
  • Working with the Business Analysis Manager and Solution Architect to identify solutions.
  • Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
  • Maintains a strong working relationship with key stakeholders at all levels to ensure a high level of understanding and knowledge exists within the business on the business processes and business solutions to support them.
  • Protect and take responsibility for the security and professional use of all company property and equipment and at all times ensure customer/third party contact and communications is secure and protected within the business IT infrastructure in accordance with GDPR requirements.
The Ideal Candidate:
  • Previous experience as a Business Analyst.
  • Previous experience with COINS configuration, integration, upgrade and implementation of new modules is ideal but not necessary.
  • Comfortable working across several business functions/disciplines.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and tasks simultaneously assesses change impact and risks throughout the project lifecycle - has the ability to act in a Project Management role as well as a BA.
  • Comfortable in an agile and fast-paced environment.
  • Superb stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Experienced facilitator of requirements workshops.
  • An analytical and methodical approach with an eye for detail whilst not losing sight of the big picture.
  • Ability to work independently and with others.
  • Extremely organised with strong time-management skills.
  • A continuous improvement mentality.
  • Experienced working with Microsoft applications (Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint), JIRA and COINs.
  • An eagerness to learn and progress.
