The role of Assistant Buyer is to support the provision of procurement services to regional operating teams to support the regional and Group Business plan, build delivery programmes, commercial objectives, budgets and future growth requirements. As an assistant, you will be given ample opportunities to learn new skills and develop your career - wherever you decide that may lead.
Our teams are structured with a Commercial Director, a Regional Buyer and an Assistant Buyer - giving you the experience and mentorship to further develop your career. You will be working in tandem with the commercial team, helping secure our 5* development, in line with the build plan. This role is offering you the opportunity to broaden your skillset in an award-winning national housebuilder, and to further your commercial career. Main Responsibilities:
- Assisting the regional buyer in procurement administration, policy, procedure compliance.
- Assisting with reporting, fulfilling material and site procurement in line with agreed start dates.
- Assist in managing supplier partnerships, ensuring that all orders are placed in a timely manner aligned to requirements.
- Dealing with supplier invoice queries and resolving them, communicating with all internal and external stakeholders.
In short, you'll add value to the overall Commercial function, furthering your knowledge and understanding of the function.
The Ideal Candidate:
- A good understanding of House building.
- A good financial and commercial awareness.
- A good understanding of the current technical and design regulations.
- Proficient in COINS (procurement section) system and Microsoft Excel.
- Numerical and literate.
