We are currently supporting a leading general haulage and pallet network client in the search for a Nights Transport Operations Manager to oversee and drive performance across a busy, fast-paced night shift operation. This is a key leadership role responsible for ensuring the seamless execution of trunking and distribution activities, delivering against strict service, cost, and compliance targets.

The Role

Reporting into the Transport / Operations leadership team, you will take full ownership of the night shift transport operation managing fleet, drivers, and planning to ensure efficient, compliant, and high-performing delivery into the pallet network. You will play a critical role in maintaining service levels, optimising resource utilisation, and driving continuous improvement across the operation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the night shift transport operation, ensuring smooth execution of trunking and local distribution.
  • Oversee route planning, scheduling and dispatch, ensuring OTIF delivery into the pallet network.
  • Manage driver performance, engagement and compliance in line with O Licence and WTD regulations.
  • Drive performance across key KPIs including cost, service, utilisation and efficiency.
  • Ensure full compliance with transport legislation, tachograph, and driver hours regulations.
