We are seeking an experienced
Senior Procurement Consultant to join a major, complex programme within the nuclear sector.
The role will involve leading procurement activity, including the development of procurement strategies, contract data and scope documentation, while demonstrating strong communication skills and the ability to engage effectively with a wide range of stakeholders.
Your day to day could involve
- Support the delivery of compliant and effective sourcing activities across a major, complex programme, from early market engagement through to contract award.
- Develop and manage procurement documentation, including procurement strategies, scopes of work, tender packs, evaluation criteria, contract data and award recommendations.
- Manage tender processes in line with UK public procurement regulations, relevant frameworks and internal governance requirements.
- Evaluate supplier submissions, coordinate moderation activity and prepare clear, evidence-based evaluation and recommendation reports.
- Support NEC-based procurement and contract administration, ensuring documentation is accurate, commercially robust and aligned to programme requirements.
- Engage with stakeholders across commercial, technical, legal and project teams to understand requirements and shape effective procurement routes.
- Support supplier engagement and relationship management, helping to build a capable and responsive supply chain.
- Contribute to achieving value for money, strong commercial outcomes and wider programme objectives through effective procurement planning and delivery.
- Identify and manage procurement risks, opportunities and dependencies, escalating key issues where required.
- Work as part of a multidisciplinary project team, supporting procurement strategies across infrastructure, construction, defence or public sector programmes.
- Ensure procurement activity is delivered transparently, consistently and in accordance with applicable policies, procedures and governance.
- Produce accurate procurement reports, tender documentation, stakeholder updates and contract award materials.

Who we're looking for
- Ideally HNC, HND or degree qualified in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, Quantity Surveying, Construction Law, Commercial Management or a similar relevant discipline.
Applicants with an alternative background, such as engineering or construction, may also be considered where they can demonstrate strong procurement experience.
- Experience working within a construction, infrastructure, engineering or major project environment, with relevant experience in procurement, sourcing, supplier management or contract administration.
Experience within the nuclear, civil engineering, defence, infrastructure or engineering services sector would be highly desirable.
- Strong understanding of procurement activity across the full sourcing lifecycle, including market engagement, procurement strategy, tender documentation, supplier evaluation, award recommendations and contract award.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage confidently with stakeholders, suppliers and multidisciplinary project teams.
- Methodical and commercially aware, with strong problem‑solving skills and the ability to support value for money, risk management and effective commercial outcomes.
- Experience supporting procurement and contract management activity within nuclear, infrastructure, engineering, defence or other major project environments.
- Experience working with NEC forms of contract, including NEC3 and NEC4, with the ability to support procurement documentation and contract administration.
- Familiarity with UK public procurement regulations, public sector frameworks and compliant tendering processes would be highly beneficial.
- Professional qualifications and/or membership of CIPS, RICS, CIOB, APM or another relevant professional body are desirable, and will be supported if not already obtained.
