Permanent Full-time with flexible working and core hours

Gleeds is a leading global property and construction consultancy. Independent since 1875, we are proud to deliver award-winning projects around the world. We are an accredited Great Place to Work employer, with our people at the heart of everything we do. Climate change and Sustainability is at the top of our agenda. We have been established within the energy sector for the past 40 years and have achieved significant growth in the past years as we contribute to a sector that will have trillions of pounds of investment over the next decade. Our teams are at the forefront of the change, managing life changing projects in Solar, Hydrogen, Nuclear, Renewables and Defence, and we want you to be part of that too.

We are looking for an experienced Data Developer with an interest and experience in providing data analytic solutions utilising Power Apps and SQL to clients on major construction and infrastructure projects. The right candidate will have strong SQL capabilities. This role would be joining us on a permanent basis, joining a team of experienced Data Analysts looking to provide innovative, novel solutions to clients. In this team you will play a crucial part in delivering and monitoring Nuclear & Defence programmes which are the most technical and complex challenges facing the UK today, helping us leave a safer environment for future generations.

Your day to day could sometimes involve:

  • Work closely with directors and project managers to define scope, technical requirements, success criteria and delivery plans.
  • Elicit and translate business and technical requirements into data, integration and solution specifications.
  • Design and implement scalable ETL pipelines and data models; own data quality, lineage and documentation.
  • Build and operationalise predictive analytics and automated processes; ensure monitoring and maintainability.
  • Develop high impact reports and self-service solutions using Power BI (data modelling, DAX, optimisation).
  • Rapidly prototype and deliver business apps/flows with PowerApps and Power Automate.
  • Produce robust SQL for data extraction, transformation and performance tuning across relational/columnar stores.
  • Communicate complex technical concepts clearly to technical and non-technical audiences; prepare presentations and demo sessions.
  • Support PMs and leadership by removing technical blockers, estimating effort and tracking deliverables.
  • Engage with clients and internal stakeholders as required; provide consultancy input and recommendations.

However no two days are the same, we are a flexible team that support each other’s projects as well as getting involved with wider business activities and we believe that variety is key to your development.

What we’re looking for:

  • Must have experience in construction or engineering.
  • Deep proficiency in SQL and data modelling (dimensional and normalised).
  • Strong requirement-gathering and stakeholder management skills.
  • Excellent business acumen and ability to map analytics to measurable business outcomes.
  • Hands-on experience with Power BI, PowerApps and Power Automate.
  • Practical experience in Python for data engineering, feature engineering and model development.
  • Solid knowledge of ETL, ETL design patterns, data warehousing and data governance.
  • Engineering and mathematical mindset.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Azure and AI/ML platforms.
  • Current security clearance, or ability to obtain security clearance.
  • Ideally HNC, HND or Degree qualified in Construction Management, Data Science, Engineering, IT, or similar disciplines.

What we can offer you in return:

  • Clear opportunities to develop and grow your career through training and further qualifications.
  • Fantastic networking opportunities to grow your personal brand and expand your understanding of the industry.
  • Generous holiday allowance plus the option to purchase additional days through the holiday purchase scheme.
  • Highly competitive salary and the opportunity to increase this through continuous reviews.
  • Employee Assistance Programme to ensure your health and personal well-being comes first.
  • Flexible working arrangements to ensure you have a healthy work-life balance.
  • Volunteering opportunities to engage with your local community or charitable organisations.
  • Unparalleled support from central teams and a company that is recognised as a Great Place to Work employer.
