About this opportunity

We have an exciting opportunity for an ambitious Chartered Building Surveyor to join our new Built Asset Solutions division. Joining a national team delivering expert building consultancy and asset management solutions via an innovative service model. You’ll be part of a growth minded, collaborative multi‑disciplinary business with a defined brand and a clear focus, ensuring real estate optimisation through service excellence, innovation and agile delivery.

Our building surveyors work with a range of public & private sector clients, providing a broad breadth of commercial building surveying services throughout the capital. We work strategically to maximise growth, profitability and profile, securing work with renowned institutions and iconic commissions.

As a member of our London built asset solutions team you will be responsible for:

  • Working collaboratively to meet and exceed team goals & objectives
  • Building excellent client relationships through proactive, positive engagement, and clear, professional communication
  • Delivering high quality building surveying services in‑line with customer requirements to meet or exceed expectations
  • Delivering a range of services including building surveys, dilapidations & party wall advice
  • Delivering building projects from feasibility through to design, contract administration to handover and post completion reviews
  • Preparing and managing planned maintenance programmes

Who we’re looking for:

Experience, Knowledge and Key Skills

  • Detailed knowledge and practical experience delivering commercial building surveys and producing reports
  • Sound knowledge of construction methods and materials
  • Knowledge of construction procurement strategies, including tendering and contract strategies
  • Experience acting as contract administrator or employer’s agent for JCT or NEC contracts
  • Clear understanding of legislation impacting on building contracts
  • Clear and effective communication skills – both oral and written
  • Excellent organisational skills and the ability to quickly adapt to changes
  • Excellent problem solving, negotiating skills, financial and numeracy management skills
  • Ability to absorb complex information and assess requirements readily
  • Ability to use AutoCAD software to create or amend designs
  • Sound IT skills and familiarity using full MS office suite

Qualifications

  • MRICS (Member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors) OR MCIOB (Member of the Chartered Institute of Building)
