We have an excellent opportunity for a qualified construction project manager to join our growing Cambridge office. We're searching for someone passionate about growth, looking to make a tangible impact on a high potential project management team. Joining us as associate project manager, you'll help turn client requirements into well managed building projects, ensuring people, information and decisions moving. This role needs clear communication, calm organisation and the confidence to recognise issues early to mitigate impact on projects. You'll help shape the future of your team and our Cambridge office.
Working with directors and senior colleagues, you'll help identify and secure new work, support junior project managers on their professional journey, and play a key role in office strategies and initiatives. Our Cambridge team work across a wide range of sectors, with particular specialisms in heritage and culture, life sciences and high quality project delivery. It's a strong base for varied work and iconic projects with high profile clients. You will also have an impact regionally, collaborating and building relationships with neighbouring offices to strengthen our capabilities and client offering, with scope to explore opportunities in new markets.
What you'll do:
- Managing building projects and programmes to deliver high-quality services and client outcomes
- Administering contracts as project manager, contract administrator or employer's agent where required
- Coordinating clients, consultants, contractors and stakeholders through design, procurement and delivery stages
- Managing complex commissions and multidisciplinary project teams
- Providing trusted advice to clients and senior stakeholders
- Developing client relationships and identifying opportunities to secure further workstreams
- Business development, networking, and marketing activities to generate new business opportunities
- Managing and mentoring junior project managers to support professional development
What you'll bring:
- Sound project management experience in professional consultancy environment
- Experience acting as contract administrator, employers agent or technical advisor from project inception to completion
- Sound knowledge of JCT and NEC contracts, procurement routes and building project delivery
- Excellent technical and commercial judgement, informing strong reporting and decision making skills
- In depth understanding of RIBA lifecycle, construction methodologies and UK building regulations
- Clear written & verbal communication with a sound understanding of suitable tone and language
- Excellent stakeholder management skills and ability to develop strong professional relationships
- Ability to absorb and understand complex information and assess requirements readily
- A people focused, growth minded approach to people management, mentoring, and development
