We are searching for a Senior Electrical Design Engineer to join our built asset solutions service, an agile, innovative multi-disciplinary offering delivering a comprehensive range of expert services to clients across the UK and Europe.
This is an excellent opportunity for an electrical specialist to step into a role with clear progression opportunities, varied work with a broad client base, and potential to manage, grow and lead electrical design engineering for the office.
Working collaboratively with your mechanical counterpart, as well as our wider midlands building services and building surveying teams, your role will centre around electrical survey and design instructions. You will support public & private sector clients with their electrical services needs through detailed surveys and reports, producing high quality designs, and providing technical guidance on designs & proposals.
Within this role you will be responsible for:
- Design and specification of electrical building services projects across various commercial property types
- Site inspections of work in progress
- Project progress and client facing meetings
- Electrical surveys and condition reports
- Cost estimates throughout the RIBA work stages
- Reviewing Contractor’s Proposals
- Input to fee proposals and appointment documents
- Input into business plans for growth

Who we’re looking for:
- Experience delivering electrical survey & design services for construction / property sector clients
- Experience working in a professional consultancy, main contractor or subcontractor environment
- A valid UK driving license and access to your own vehicle
- Practical experience in lifecycle analysis, condition surveys and reporting
- Confidence using industry standard design software (AutoCAD and Tribble)
- Clear and effective written and oral communication skills
- A people focused approach, with the ability to work well in a team and add value
Qualifications:
To be considered for this position, you will need to hold, or be working towards: CEng (Chartered Engineer). Full membership to one of the following professional bodies is also desirable: MCIBSE (Member of the Chartered Institution of Building Services Engineers) or MIET (Member of the Institution of Engineering and Technology).
