The Strategic Pursuits team sits within the Global Pursuits Team and provides a specialist hub for our most complex, high‑value and strategically important bids. Operating as part of one Global Pursuits Team, Strategic Pursuits works in close collaboration with global, regional, sector and technical teams to deliver a consistent, high‑quality and joined‑up approach to winning work.
These opportunities typically involve:

Working collaboratively with regional teams and senior stakeholders, the team focuses on winning the highest‑value, highest‑impact opportunities where we can create a clear competitive advantage, with a strong emphasis on quality, differentiation and client‑centric positioning.
As the Bid Writer, you will support the Strategic Pursuits team on Gleeds’ most high‑profile and complex bids throughout the full end‑to‑end pursuit lifecycle. This includes supporting and championing the Global Pursuit Bid Process (GPBP), from early positioning and pre‑bid strategy (including Position to Win), through to live bid development and post‑tender interviews. You will work closely with the Head of Strategic Pursuits, Head of Global Pursuits, Strategic Pursuit Leads, Bid/Proposal Managers and technical teams to:
- Translate strategic positioning into compelling, client‑focused written responses
- Develop clear, differentiated strategic win themes aligned to client success drivers
- Produce high‑quality, tailored content that directly answers client requirements
- Ensure consistency, clarity and quality across submissions
- Support continuous improvement and best practice across Strategic Pursuits
This role requires the ability to contribute to Tier 1 Strategic Pursuits, supporting high‑value, complex bids where quality, insight and differentiation are critical to success.
As a Gleeds team member, you will have access to opportunities to develop and grow your career, a contributory pension scheme, Employee Assistance Programme, and flexible working arrangements.
