About this opportunity

You will support the Building Surveyors throughout the development from the initial feasibility assessment through to design and contract administration. Responsibilities will include, conducting surveys and advising clients on building maintenance, management, property legislation and building regulations on a range of building types.

You’ll be able to choose your own path at Gleeds, being able to work across the full spectrum of our varied service range, giving you a 360 exposure to a business that is a leader in many sectors.

Our Apprenticeship Programme will provide you with the opportunity to study and obtain a Chartered Surveyor Degree level 6 Apprenticeship, whilst gaining hands on experience.

This includes on the job learning, mentorship, professional reviews, a dedicated development team and all the tools and support needed to be successful in your career!

You will follow the Level 6 Chartered Surveyor Apprenticeship Standard. This apprenticeship runs over five years and includes studying for a BSc in Quantity Surveying or Cost Management

On successful completion of the apprenticeship, you will work towards qualifying as a Chartered Member (MRICS) of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS).

About You

As a Apprentice, you will develop knowledge and experience in the following:

  • Building surveying practices and procedures
  • Contract administration procedures
  • Compliance audits and surveys
  • Managing contractor activities pre and post-construction
  • Tendering
  • Party wall matters
  • Dilapidations
  • Design procedures and controls
  • Construction quality and monitoring

What you will need

  • GCSEs, grades A*-C including Maths and English at (grade 4) and above or equivalent.
  • 120 (UCAS) points from 2 or 3 A levels, or equivalent.
  • Right to live and work in the UK.
  • Clear and effective communication skills - both oral and written.
  • Good organisational skills and the ability to quickly adapt to changes.
  • Good ICT skills, with a high level of proficiency in MS Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to work as part of a team.
