Fixed term salaried GP with potential permanent placement

Glebe Road Surgery is a GMS training practice, based in lovely Barnes. We are part of Sheen and Barnes PCN and work very closely with our neighbouring practices ensuring we provide the best care for our patients. We have been rated "Good" by the CQC and pride ourselves in being a strategic, innovative practice. We are a busy Southwest London GP practice with 10,500 patients and a full complement of clinical and administrative staff.

We bring you an amazing opportunity for an experienced GP to join our clinical team for a fixed term of 12 months with potential to extend this to a permanent contract. We are looking for a hardworking, friendly and skilled professional who can offer a minimum of 6 sessions per week. They will work as an autonomous practitioner, responsible for the provision of medical services to the practice population, delivering an excellent standard of clinical care whilst complying with the GMS contract. The post holder will adhere to the GMC standards for good medical practice, contributing to the effective management of the practice, leading by example, maintaining a positive, collaborative working relationship with the multidisciplinary team. You will be supported by four GP Partners, a complement of fellow salaried GPs, GPAs, prescribing pharmacist, paramedic practitioner and the nursing team.

Main duties of the job:

• The delivery of highly effective medical care to the entitled population
• The provision of services commensurate with the GMS contract
• Generic prescribing adhering to local and national guidance
• Effective management of long-term conditions
• Processing of administration in a timely manner, including referrals, repeat prescription requests and other associated administrative tasks
• On a rotational basis, undertake telephone triage and duty doctor roles
• Maintain accurate clinical records in conjunction with good practice, policy and guidance
• Work collaboratively, accepting an equal share of the practice workload
• Adhere to best practice recommended through clinical guidelines and the audit process
• Contribute to the successful implementation of continuous improvement and quality initiatives within the practice
• Accept delegated responsibility for a specific area or areas of the QOF
• Attend and contribute effectively to practice meetings as required
• Contribute effectively to the development and maintenance of the practice including clinical governance and training
• Ensure compliance with the appraisal process
• Prepare and complete the re-validation process
• Commit to self-learning and instil an ethos of continuing professional development across the practice team
• Support the training of medical students from all clinical disciplines
• Support the partners in achieving the strategic aims of the practice, making recommendations to enhance income and reduce expenditure

• Fully qualified GP with active GMC registration
• This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly known as CRB) to check for any previous criminal convictions.
