Overview
Milestone‐Stage Advanced Technology (MSAT) Molecule Steward is responsible for the end‑to‑end technical stewardship of a pharmaceutical product across the complete lifecycle – from bulk API manufacturing and formulation to packing, conversion to commercial products, and ongoing regulatory and quality assurance activities.
The role calls for strategic technical leadership, ensuring product control strategies are developed, maintained, and aligned with business and scientific objectives.
Responsibilities
- Represent MSAT as the technical single‑point accountable decision maker for the product within the CMC Matrix and Medicine Supply Chain teams.
- Define and maintain a product control strategy that meets manufacturability, quality and regulatory standards.
- Develop and deliver the product performance qualification and continuous process verification strategy, including trending and sampling plans.
- Lead the Product Technical Lifecycle Teams (PTLT) to identify and mitigate risks, driving continuous improvement of technical processes.
- Coordinate regulatory submissions and responses, providing expertise for investigations, critical deviations, troubleshooting and major change programmes.
- Maintain product knowledge across the lifecycle, ensuring alignment with knowledge management standards and all stakeholders.
- Collaborate with Supply Chain sites, MSAT, R&D and other partners to ensure clear, effective communication on highly technical topics.
Qualifications
- University degree in Life Sciences (Biology, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or equivalent).
- Extensive experience in pharmaceutical development and/or manufacturing of small‑molecule products.
- Comprehensive knowledge of regulatory requirements (MHRA, FDA) and quality and safety obligations.
- Experience in technology transfer and knowledge of the product development process.
- Familiarity with current and emerging regulatory strategies (Quality by Design, GMP 21st‑Century, ICH Q7, Q8, Q9, Q10) and Product Lifecycle Management.
- Demonstrated leadership in product lifecycle management and process investigation support.
- Strong project‑management skills and ability to prioritise within a complex matrix environment.
- Excellent problem‑solving, creative thinking, and strong communication skills to articulate complex technical details across all organisational levels.
- Ability to influence stakeholders and drive technical issues to timely resolution.
- Preferred experience with complex pharmaceutical devices, especially inhalation devices.
- Work Location
Eligible sites include Ware, London; Barnard Castle, UK; Evreux, France; Upper Merion, Upper Providence, USA; Boston; and Durham, USA.
The role offers a hybrid work model combining on‑site and remote work.
