We are looking for a Clinical Biostatistician to join our Speciality and Primary Care Statistics team at GSK. As a Clinical Biostatistician you will apply statistical skills and innovative methodology to drive key contributions to the R&D of new medicines and vaccines across Oncology, Speciality/Primary Care, and Vaccines. Speciality and Primary Care Statistics supports drug development in Immunology, Hepatology, Gastro‑intestinal, Renal, Respiratory, Cardiovascular, Neuroscience, Infectious Diseases, HIV, and Global Health. Your work will involve end‑to‑end project support, from early clinical development to registration, approval, and marketed product support.

Responsibilities

  • Provide statistical input to the design, analysis, reporting and interpretation of clinical studies.
  • Influence clinical development plans, regulatory and commercial strategies.
  • Build and maintain effective strategic working relationships with internal and external partners to meet business needs.
  • Identify, develop and implement novel statistical methodologies in support of medicines and vaccines development.
  • Work across the entire range of drug development, from early clinical development to registration and marketed product support.

Basic Qualifications & Skills

  • MSc (or equivalent) in statistics or related field.
  • Practical understanding of statistical modelling and its application to real‑world clinical problems.
  • Track record of strong performance as a biostatistician in an academic or industry setting.
  • Demonstrated experience working effectively in a team setting.
  • Strong time‑management and prioritization skills.

Preferred Qualifications & Skills

  • PhD (or equivalent) in a statistical discipline.
  • Relevant experience as a statistician in a clinical trial setting in the pharmaceutical industry.
  • Experience with Bayesian methods.
  • Expertise in multiple statistical methodologies, including longitudinal modelling, causal inference, machine learning or large‑language models.
  • Therapy area expertise, depending on role.
  • Capable of applying innovative statistical thinking.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Capability in building and maintaining strong working relationships in a team setting.
  • Ability to explain novel and standard methods to scientific and clinical colleagues.
  • Strong influencing skills applied across functions and levels of an organization.
  • Track record of strong statistical contributions and accomplishments in clinical drug development, with a broad knowledge of all phases of drug development (pre‑clinical; Phase I–IV).
  • Experience of working with and coordinating the work of CROs.
