The Environment, Health and Safety (EHS) advisor team advises on legal and other requirements affecting EHS at the site. Their purpose is to ensure compliance with all relevant legislation, internal Engineering and EHS standards, and safe manufacture of active pharmaceutical ingredients. They promote continuous improvement and adoption of best practice for EHS matters, support operational areas and functions, and deliver EHS training and awareness.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the EHS Lead, team members and various directorates to maintain high EHS standards and safe manufacturing of active pharmaceutical ingredients.
  • Maintain the site’s EHS management system, ensuring compliance with legal requirements while facilitating continuous improvement.
  • Assist in managing the safety reporting database, driving timely investigation and closure of unusual incident reports (UIRs) with a focus on corrective and preventive action for high‑hazard activities; provide support to line managers with investigations.
  • Ensure all personnel comply with GSK's life‑saving rules.
  • Lead and contribute to EHS self‑inspections and internal audits, and support the site during regulatory and other inspections.
  • Maintain liaison with other GSK business areas, external EHS consultants, industry and trade bodies, and regulators such as the HSE and SEPA.
  • Represent the EHS team on project matters and support safe project delivery.
  • Stay up‑to‑date with modern EHS processes and techniques.
  • Support the EHS Lead in developing strategic opportunities to improve EHS controls and foster a learning environment for EHS topics across staff.

Basic Qualifications

  • Experience within an EHS environment, ideally in a high‑hazard setting.
  • Strong understanding of EHS policies and processes.
  • Hold NEBOSH general certificate.
