Join GSK as a field‑based Medical Science Liaison (MSL) in hepatology, where you’ll use your scientific expertise, communication skills and clinical insight to build trusted external relationships and shape medical strategy across the UK. As part of the UK Specialty Medical Team, you will lead scientific engagement in hepatology. You will generate and share insights from the field, support evidence generation, and partner with cross‑functional colleagues to deliver patient‑focused medical activities. Responsibilities

  • Engage in one-to-one scientific dialogue with external experts in hepatology (e.g., hepatologists, gastroenterologists, infectious diseases teams, pharmacists and nurses) in line with the GSK Code of Practice and local laws and regulations.
  • Support evidence generation by providing scientific expertise to investigators and sites involved in GSK-supported clinical trials and Investigator‑Sponsored Studies (ISS).
  • Provide scientific education and training to internal stakeholders and contribute to approved external scientific meetings and activities, in line with GSK policy.
  • Respond to unsolicited medical information requests from healthcare professionals in a fair, factual, balanced and scientifically rigorous manner via the appropriate channel.
  • Generate and communicate actionable medical insights from the field, partnering cross‑functionally (Medical Affairs, Commercial, Market Access and other matrix teams) to inform local strategy, evidence generation and patient‑focused initiatives.
  • Maintain up‑to‑date expertise in hepatology and the evolving external landscape (guidelines, standards of care, congresses and competitor data) to enable high‑quality scientific exchange.

Qualifications

  • A degree in life sciences (PhD, MSc or equivalent) or medical (MD, MBBS, MPharm, PharmD).
  • Scientific or clinical knowledge in hepatology, such as viral hepatitis and steatotic liver disease.
  • Strong communication and influencing skills, with the ability to translate complex science into clear, compliant messages.
  • A good understanding of the changing UK health care environment.
  • Proactive, self‑motivated, self‑reliant.
