We are seeking a talented and experienced Marketing Training Development Manager to join the Marketing Excellence team. This individual will lead the creation and implementation of enterprise training programs designed to help elevate marketing competency proficiency levels for US Commercial Marketers and Leaders while increasing the quality and business impact of the work Marketers do each day.
The Marketing Training Development Manager will partner with key vendors and internal subject matter experts on defining training objectives, content, hands-on exercises, measurement criteria and communication plan. This is a highly visible role with significant project management and vendor management responsibilities, along with training delivery and facilitation expertise.
By joining the Marketing Excellence Team as a Training Development Manager you get the opportunity to further advance your technical and business competencies, strengthen and gain exposure to best practices, and partner with Marketers across both GSK and ViiV to drive Marketing Excellence. Key Responsibilities
- Analyze current assessment results to determine priority training needs and proficiency level objectives across the enterprise.
- Lead the development of training pilots, learning labs, and leadership coaching programs focused on elevating marketing competencies and increasing business impact across US Commercial.
- Work closely with internal SMEs and external vendors to design, develop, and deliver comprehensive training content, in a variety of delivery formats.
- Oversee the portfolio of enterprise marketing training offerings to ensure there are appropriate training solutions available to support both technical and business competencies.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of training programs through performance tracking and data analysis. Provide regular reports, insights and recommendations to optimize programs.
- Facilitate engaging and interactive training sessions, leveraging adult learning principles to ensure maximum retention and application of knowledge.
- Stay abreast of industry trends and best practices in marketing and training. Continuously seek opportunities to enhance training content and delivery methods.
- Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders, inclusive of global learning and development content leads, and external partners. Foster an open and honest dialogue to ensure alignment and effectiveness of training initiatives.
- Manage annual training budget.

We are looking for professionals with these required skills to achieve our goals:
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, Business, Education, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in a marketing role, with a deep understanding of marketing competencies and practices, including digital marketing, content creation, and campaign management & measurement.
- Experience with Project Management.
- Excellent facilitation skills, and experience to engage and motivate diverse audiences.
- Strong presentation skills, both written and verbal.
- Experience in tracking and analyzing training performance metrics.
- Proficiency in LMS, CRM software, and data analysis tools.
- Experience working in relationships and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and external partners.
- Leadership and Problem-solving skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
If you have the following characteristics, it would be a plus:
- MBA
- Experience as a trainer in developing and delivering training programs, preferably within a marketing context is highly desirable, but not required. Certification in Training and Development is a plus.
- Familiarity with adult learning theories and principles, with an ability to apply these in the design and delivery of training.
- Understands the power of AI and how it can be used to augment the training content development process.
