As the Procurement Manager for the Professional Services Team you will represent GSK and act as the interface for consultants and our business ensuring the scope and commercials fit the profile of the business needs and strategic direction. This role represents a great opportunity to build strong relationships with a variety of diverse and senior stakeholders. You will use these relationships to understand objectives, priorities, business strategy and work, along with the rest of the Professional Services team, to advise how procurement can help achieve these goals. This may include ambitious cost savings, managing risk and/or ensuring that the right suppliers are being chosen. There will also be a stretch opportunity within this role to lead competitive intelligence as a sub-category and to lead legal services projects when they arise. Due to the scope and influence of the role, it will also present various development opportunities as your career with GSK continues.

In this role you will:

  • Execute global sourcing and creation, execution, and management across multiple spend categories such as Legal, Competitive Intelligence & Consulting services.
  • Develop and maintain tools that strategically position the team to deliver external market expertise and benchmarking.
  • Manage global supply base for the categories within scope through a robust performance management process.
  • Ensure supplier performance is understood and measured and reported accurately.
  • Execute and manage effective contracts with suppliers that will allow GSK to maximize global opportunities.
  • Ensure global views on supplier negotiations are taken.
  • Ensure financial benefits are managed in accordance with the Spend Management Framework approach, ensuring business unit and Finance agreement to financial value delivered and transparency on treatment of benefits in the budgeting process.
  • Manage the end-to-end process to challenge the sourcing approach and scope of the business requirements.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Procurement experience including the ability to support multiple spend categories.
  • Track record of business stakeholder management and influencing, this includes the ability to build strong relationships and to influence without express authority.
  • Experience managing suppliers (including performance management), developing new potential suppliers and partnering with supply base for mutual benefit.
  • Ability to articulate the value that procurement can bring to an organisation and personally drive and deliver business impacting cost savings.
  • Ability and track record in leading end to end contract negotiations.
  • Commercial and financial acumen.

Preferred Qualifications & Skills

  • Pharmaceutical Industry Experience preferable.
  • Qualified to bachelor’s degree level.
  • Category experience within Professional Services or similar corporate categories.
  • Experience working with Procure-to-Pay and Spend Analysis systems; ability to dive into data and co-create, understand, and trouble-shoot reporting requirements.
  • Experience managing the delivery of large sourcing projects in collaboration with cross functional teams.
