Responsibilities

  • Sample, test, report and validate final products, intermediates, raw materials and in-process samples to defined procedures.
  • Operate consistently to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Good Laboratories Practices (GLP) standards to ensure compliant product testing.
  • Maintain and calibrate a wide range of analytical equipment to ensure continual production of accurate and precise results.
  • Utilise theoretical and practical knowledge to aid interpretation of results and troubleshooting.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in routine laboratory information systems to interpret and report results.
  • Work in a compliant manner to ensure the safety of yourself, others and the protection of the environment.
  • Identify, participate and implement Continuous Improvements opportunities.
  • Complete all actions arising from internal/external audit commitments.
  • Manage 5S and lab chemicals/consumable levels to ensure the area is kept to the required standard.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Technical knowledge and experience in analytical science.
  • Relevant experience of working without close supervision.
  • Experience participating in inter-departmental teams working on quality related problems.
  • Ability to troubleshoot problem analytical methods/instrumentation and implement solutions.
  • Knowledge of GMP, GLP and regulatory issues.
  • High motivation and an ability to operate within a team.
  • Ability to elevate issues to Team Leader as appropriate.
  • Communication and influencing skills.
  • Knowledge of Quality Management System (QMS) including GQMPs and GQPs.
  • Knowledge of data handling laboratory systems.
  • Good knowledge of relevant analytical techniques.

Basic Qualifications

  • HND Level or equivalent in an appropriate discipline.
  • Degree in an appropriate scientific discipline.
