Role Overview

Global Senior Procurement Manager (Logistics Fulfilment, Global Overland) will lead the development and execution of GSK’s global transportation strategy. This role is responsible for delivering value across the end-to-end supply chain through cost optimisation, operational efficiency, sustainability and innovation. Partnering with global cross-functional teams and strategic suppliers, the Senior Transportation Manager will play a critical role in shaping a resilient, agile, and future-ready transportation network.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategy & Category Leadership – Develop and implement a comprehensive global transportation category strategy aligned with GSK’s business objectives and Supply Chain goals.
  • Team Leadership – Lead and develop a team of Global Procurement Managers, setting clear objectives, providing coaching and fostering a culture of high performance, accountability, and collaboration to deliver measurable business outcomes.
  • Cost Optimisation – Drive network efficiency by evaluating global transportation operations, identifying cost-saving opportunities across end to end Supply Chain.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration – Work closely with Supply Chain, Quality, Legal, Finance, and Compliance to manage demand, specifications and align on objectives.
  • Supplier Relationship Management – Build robust SRM programs with strategic transportation partners to drive continuous improvement, innovation, sustainability agenda and mutual value creation.
  • Network & Mode Optimisation – Leverage data analytics and market insights to optimise routes, modes, and carrier selection for cost-effectiveness and service excellence.
  • Technology & Innovation – Champion the adoption of innovative solutions, including AI-enabled tracking and real-time analytics, to improve visibility, agility, and operational efficiency.
  • Performance Management – Ensure full compliance with GSK’s business and procurement policies, standards and procedures, embedding third-party risk management and ethical sourcing principles across all activities.
  • Tendering & Contracting – Lead competitive bidding processes, complex contract negotiations, and ensure compliance with procurement policies and standards.
  • Budget & Forecasting – Manage transportation budgets and cost models, providing actionable insights to Finance and Supply Chain leadership.
  • Sustainability – Partner with sustainability team and suppliers to embed environmental goals into transportation strategy, to deliver GSK’s sustainability targets.
  • Knowledge Sharing – Promote best practices and continuous improvement initiatives across GSK’s global transportation network and external partners.

Required Qualifications & Skills

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Supply Chain, Procurement or related field.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate, and develop teams in a global, matrix environment, fostering a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and high performance.
  • Proven experience managing logistics categories with measurable results in cost optimisation and operational efficiency.
  • Expertise in designing global transportation strategy, category management and strategic sourcing.
  • Strong track record of leading complex negotiations and engaging stakeholders at all organisational levels.
  • Advanced analytical skills and experience using E- Sourcing tools.
  • Demonstrated success managing global projects and driving change in a matrix environment.
  • In-depth understanding of global freight markets and emerging supply chain trends.
